Rockefeller Archive Center Employee Handbook
About the Employee Handbook
This handbook details the policies, practices, and procedures of the Rockefeller Archive Center (“RAC”). It applies to all employees and is meant to serve as a working guide in order to promote a collegial and productive work environment. Please review the handbook and retain it for future reference. Questions related to the handbook should be directed to your supervisor or to Human Resources.
The RAC may amend or revoke its policies, practices, and procedures, including those set forth in this handbook, as it deems appropriate with or without notice. Amendments to the handbook will be authorized by the RAC President.
None of RAC’s policies, practices, or procedures, whether expressed in this handbook or elsewhere, whether orally or in writing, are to be viewed as creating a promise or contract by the RAC with respect to any of its contents. Rather, since the policies are guidelines, the RAC is free to change or revoke them at its sole discretion.
Employment at the RAC is At-Will
Employment at the RAC is at-will. This means that employees are free to quit at any time, for any reason, just as the RAC is free to terminate employment at any time, for any reason, with or without notice, with or without cause.
No RAC employee, supervisor or representative, other than RAC’s President, has the authority to change the at-will employment relationship or to contract with any employee for different terms of employment. The President may change the at-will employment relationship only in a written contract, signed by the President and the employee. Nothing in this handbook constitutes a contract or promise of continued employment.
